Privacy policy

PageChat is a Chrome extension. We do not require an account and we do not sell personal data.

Data stored on your device

Chats, settings (temperature, crawl limits, page-mode default), and pending right-click actions are stored in Chrome’s extension storage on your computer. You can export a chat as Markdown or clear all chats from the side panel.

When content is sent

PageChat does not send the current tab by default. Chat stays on your device until you take an action that needs the model. Then the prompt, plus any page extract, site dossier, selection, or pasted attachment you included, is sent over HTTPS to the PageChat proxy at https://pagechat-plugin-tvkj.vercel.app/api/chat and forwarded to the hosted model provider to generate a reply. The model API key stays on the server and is not stored in the extension.

• You send a chat or Translate message
• You check Include this page (the current tab’s text is included)
• You use Summarize site or Company info (public same-site pages are fetched)
• You use a context-menu action such as ask, translate, or summarize
• You paste an image into the chat (the image is sent with that message)

We do not sell this content, use it for advertising, or build an account profile. Server logs may include request time and status code so we can keep the proxy running. We do not keep a user database of your chats.

What we do not collect

We do not create user accounts, analytics profiles, advertising IDs, or payment records.

Permissions

• sidePanel — open the chat panel beside the tab
• storage — save chats and settings on your device
• activeTab, tabs, scripting — read the current page when you ask PageChat to
• contextMenus — right-click Ask, Translate, and Summarize
• Host access to websites — fetch public pages you choose to summarize on the site you are viewing
• Host access to this site — send chat requests to the hosted model proxy

Your choices

Leave Include this page off to chat without sending the tab. Delete local chats with Clear all in the side panel. For a deletion or privacy question, email 15322386667@163.com.
